On Tuesday, Buffalo Bills fired the Dick Jauron, becoming the season’s first NFL coaching casualty.
Bills owner Ralph Wilson said he is relieving Dick Jauron from his duties as head coach, and this move is for the team’s best. He added the team will move forward now and will prepare for their game this week in Jacksonville.
The move comes just two days after the Bills were pounded 41-17 by the Tennessee Titans leaving them at the bottom of the AFC East with a 3-6 record.
Perry Fewell, the defensive coordinator, is expected to be named as the interim head coach.
Jauron leaves with a losing mark of 24-33, and his first three seasons in charge ended in identical 7-9 records.
The season did not get off to a promising start with Jauron sacking offensive coordinator Turk Schonert just before the regular-season opener.
Despite the addition of flamboyant wide receiver Terrell Owens, the Bills offence has sputtered and ranks near the bottom of the NFL averaging just 15.6 points per game.
